Concluded the Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, on Wednesday, his official visit to Kuwait, while Kuwait confirmed she would discuss the issue of debt owed by Iraq and will send a delegation to Baghdad in 13 of the next month to activate the joint committees, while the Foreign Minister of Iraq said the talks between the two sides was transparent .

Iraq’s parliament voted unanimously to take eight ministerial portfolios, while the promise of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to provide the names of candidates to fill the security portfolios (defense, interior and national security) next week and vote on the synchronization of the new ministers with the growing popular protest movement against corruption and quotas. One man died of unemployed in Mosul after set himself on fire in protest.

MP demands return of live parliamentary broadcasts

Baghdad, Feb. 16 (AKnews) – A member of the Iraqiya List led by the former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi demanded on Tuesday that the live parliamentary TV broadcasts resume after being stopped during the general elections.

Fattah al-Sheikh told AKnews there is no justification for keeping anything from the Iraqi citizens who the deputies voted in are supposed to be serving.

Sheikh was critical of the current recorded and edited parliamentary broadcasts.

The chairman of the Integrity Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives on Wednesday, said his committee decided to submit a request to each of the presidencies of the Republic, ministers and the House of Representatives need to submit documents of study for the purpose of confirming them, as well as the formation of three committees is divided between the provinces .

Said MP Ahmad Abbasi said that the National Alliance for naming security minister did not show up publicly to members of the House of Representatives, but the names are discussed in the political kitchen with the heads and representatives of the political blocs.

The Iraqi Parliament has voted to reject the Iraqi President’s proposal to increase the number of his Vice-Presidents to four, in order to grant the 4th seat to the Turkomen community in the country, a Legislature for the National Coalition said on Wednesday.

“The Parliament members have voted to reject the proposal of President Jalal Talabani for the increase of the number of his Vice-Presidents from three to four,” pointing out that “the Parliament’s Legal Committee had failed to complete reading the text of the President’s proposal due to the opposition of a large number of legislatures of the proposal,” Ali al-Tamimi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

An existing Iraqi President Iyad Allawi yesterday on the nomination of four names to fill the position of the Ministry of Defence of them civilians and three soldiers, not to mention their names, pointing out that, according to the political agreement, we are entitled to choose the minister.

Allawi said at a news conference: We are true participants in power, but power did not apply the principle of participation so far, indicating that it was agreed under the initiative of the President of the Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani on six documents from a total of nine did not apply any of them so far, adding that to my last meeting with Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki, a positive and hope for something that involves, stressing that the goal to be participants in the political decision and not the number of ministries.

Allawi said that he spoke with al-Maliki on the initiative of Barzani and the need to complete the agreements, including the rules of procedure of the Council of Ministers and a document of political reform, he said, adding that they discussed the dismantling of some organs outside the framework of interior, defense and appended and the issue of national reconciliation and the strategic policy level.
