Deputy for Iraq: Time for an early vote of no confidence from the Maliki government

Baghdad, March 4 (Rn) – The deputy of the Iraqi List, said Friday that it is too early to withhold confidence from the Maliki government, demanding the formation of blocks opposition representative to assess the work of the government, while the Government confirmed that it is not difficult to drop, but according to constitutional ways.

The blossoms Sheikhly, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the time is still too early to process no confidence the Maliki government,” indicating that “the changes and political positions may occur in the coming period and lead to change.”

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Dozens of citizens began on Friday a demonstration in ‘al-Tahrir square’ in Baghdad, calling for better services and political reforms amid an intensified security deployment.

“Security forces have placed concrete blocs on al-Joumhouriya bridge that leads to the Green Zone,” Aswat al-Iraq news agency correspondent said.

Beirut, March 3 (Rn) – The newspaper “Washington Post” U.S., “The mood in Iraq changed” in light of uprisings taking place in the Arab world, where he encouraged resentment of the lack of employment opportunities, corruption and lack of services, the Iraqis take to the streets to protest as took place on Friday, killing at least 17 of the demonstrators.

Erbil, March 4 (AKnews)- The general director for Erbil international expos said due to the unrest in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and Arab world almost 45 Arab companies withdraw from the fourth International Exhibition for the Construction Industry in Erbil.

The expo currently underway in the Kurdistan Region capital displays the items of 200 companies from 17 different countries.

Baghdad, March 4 (Rn) – The deputy of the National Alliance on Friday that Iraqi Council of Representatives will discuss the reasons for its upcoming events out in most Iraqi provinces, noting that leaders of political blocs will provide studies for the demonstrations after tabulation by the provinces.

He said Furat al-Shara told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the House of Representatives was supposed to discuss the Law of the National Council for the strategic policy and the three laws related to oil,” noting that “the conditions of the Iraqi street and demonstrations made by the Council suspend the discussions and to go to discuss the reasons for the demonstrations and its aftermath.”

President of the Republic stresses that the potential of the state is able to secure standard of living and a decent life for Iraqis

Said President Jalal Talabani, during a meeting with a delegation representing a number of tribal sheikhs in Anbar province, the potential of the Iraqi state able to provide the standard of living and a decent life for the Iraqis and that what is made in the budget for services related to the work of departments and ministries and provincial councils are insufficient to arrive at a good level to respond to many of the needs of citizens.

Baghdad- 2 March 2011- The United Nations in Iraq calls on all Iraqi authorities to fully recognize the importance of participation of all Iraqis in building a democratic, stable and prosperous State in order to consolidate and further strengthen significant progress made in the recent period.

The UN in Iraq emphasizes that freedom of expression and assembly are fundamental rights of all people in a democratic state when conducted in a peaceful and law abiding manner. “We are encouraged by the engagement by the Council of Representatives and by the Government to seek dialogue with civil society aimed at addressing the grievances expressed by the Iraqi people, as well as by the unanimous support given by all Iraqi parties to improving the access of all Iraqis to basic services. Fundamental changes are needed for creating stability and trust” said Ad Melkert, the Special Representative of the Secretary General in Iraq.

Came out Friday morning, hundreds of demonstrators gathered amid Square Center Habboubi Nasiriyah and turned to mini-Dhi Qar province through the Corniche Road.

A reporter e-Nasiriyah newspaper (NEN) said the demonstrators gathered on the central square Habboubi Mjmaya different form included the Union of Writers and intellectuals as well as youth groups and different segments of the community and turned to building the province.

Baghdad,3 March 2011- The Scottish Government gave 300,000£ (480,000 US$) to the newly established United Nations Trust Fund for Iraq the first contribution to be made against this Fund.

The contribution of the Scottish Government will be allocated to water development in Iraq under the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).

“With this contribution we hope we will be making a difference to some of the most vulnerable people in Iraq” said Ms. Fiona Hyslop Scottish Minister for Culture and External Affairs. “A top priority for us is to support water projects in Iraq. We are working with the United Nations to improve access to water and sanitation services in the country”

Baghdad (news) .. MP for the Iraqi List, Ahmed al-Alwani’s intention to list a person to choose a replacement for Ayad Allawi, to the presidency of the National Council for the strategic policies.

He said al-Alwani (of the Agency news) on Friday: “The National Council for policy strategy of the maturity of the Iraqi List, was agreed on the composition and the nature of the work and structure and its role in the political process under the initiative of the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, was nominated President of the Iraqi List, Iyad Allawi, but after the announcement of Allawi for disqualification for this position we will search for another alternative for Allawi to assume that position, the fact that the Board of entitlement to the Iraqi List.

BAGHDAD – Among the revolts sweeping the Middle East and North Africa, Iraq’s has been an exception: Here, protesters are seeking to reform a democratically elected government, not to topple an autocrat.

But protesters, human rights workers and security officials say the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has responded to Iraq’s demonstrations in much the same way as many of its more authoritarian neighbors: with force.

Allaibi said that the current global oil prices acceptable and do not affect the global economy.

He told reporters in Baghdad, but there is concern that Libyan oil exports are limited and OPEC has spare production capacity beyond what is produced by Libya.

Allaibi said that the stability of world oil prices, an issue difficult to estimate, but he did not expect a significant increase in two or three weeks ahead as Saudi Arabia can pump more oil to put a ceiling on prices when necessary. Saudi Arabia is the most influential member of OPEC and has the largest spare production capacity.

Finance Minister, Rafi’ al-Essawi discussed on Wednesday, Mar 2, with the Special Representative of the SG for Iraq (SRSG), Ad Melkert, and Head of UN Humanitarian Committee, Kristine Miknab, the issue of Kirkuk and the budget of 2011.

A statement issued by the Finance Minister’s Office said that the two discussed the country’s political developments; they also discussed the issue of 2011 Budget that was recently enacted by Parliament in addition to the issue of Kirkuk and the stances of all parties concerning the situation in it.

Vietnam’s government bonds fell this week, pushing the yield on benchmark five-year notes to a nine- month high, as concern inflation will gather pace curbed demand for fixed-income assets. The dong strengthened.

The yield on five-year notes climbed five basis points to 11.63 percent, the highest level since June 7, according to a daily fixing from banks compiled by Bloomberg. The rate was 11.53 percent yesterday. A basis point is 0.01 percentage point.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said March 2 that fighting inflation was now the “top priority.” The State Bank of Vietnam lifted its seven-day reverse repurchase rate, or what it charges commercial banks in daily open-market operations, to 12 percent from 11 percent on Feb. 22. The government raised domestic fuel prices by as much as 24 percent in February, when inflation hit a two-year high of 12.3 percent, and electricity tariffs increased more than 15 percent this month.

Hundreds of citizens in the capital, Baghdad, Friday, to protest against poor service and to demand the elimination of corruption and punish corrupt, while critical of the actions taken by the government to meet demands.

A reporter “Alsumaria News”, that hundreds of people came out of Baghdad, this morning, in a protest against the deterioration of services and rampant corruption in government, he said, adding that they chanted slogans against the action taken by the Iraqi government to meet the demands of previous demonstrations.

Hundreds of people of the city north of Baghdad Kadhimiya out, this morning, in a protest organized by the religious authority of the School of Imam Khalisi to demand better services and the elimination of administrative corruption, while they went to Tahrir Square to join the demonstrators.
