PRESIDENT OBAMA: Good afternoon, everybody. I am very pleased to welcome Prime Minister al Maliki back to Washington. We’ve just concluded a very productive discussion about a wide range of issues.

We meet at an important moment. Substantial progress has been made since Prime Minister Maliki’s first visit to Washington in 2006, and since the Prime Minister and I had a chance to sit down together in Baghdad. Violence continues to be down, and Iraqis are taking responsibility for their future. This progress has been made possible by the resilience of the Iraqi people and security forces, and also because of the extraordinary service of American troops and civilians in Iraq.

Yassin said in a statement to the news agency public opinion (and babysit) on Tuesday: “still the question of the formation of the security ministries ranged in the same points of contention between the coalition of state law and the Iraqi List, and there is anything new about this childbirth.”

Iraq entering the age of islamic banks 

Iraq has approved the construction of a government Islamic bank with capital reaching 250 billion dinars (about $214 million).

The new bank will be under the supervision of the Central Bank of Iraq and will be administratively linked to the Finance Ministry.

An Iraqi official confirmed that the Islamic bank will work to attract significant capital and will contribute to the process of integrating governmental and private banks. The Iraqi government also decided to allow the operation of Windows in governmental banks.

The FMG Iraq Fund has grown by + 25% since it began in May 2010. Year to Date the fund is up + 10% and in the month of June it was up by an estimated + 4.1%.

The Fund invests mainly in stocks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) and to a lesser degree in off shore listed shares that derive a significant part of their business from Iraq.

Johan Kahm, founder of FMG, who visited Iraq in June 2011 and said upon his return:

“Iraq is turning the corner for the better. We are looking at a unique investment opportunity where we hope to make outsized returns over the next 5-10 years. Our decision to launch the Iraq Fund a year ago seems to have been well timed. Iraq sits as the third largest proven oil reserves in the world and has the potential to overtake Saudi Arabia as the world’s largest oil producer.”

Senior Economist calls for intensified efforts to prevent corruption during the lifting of the zeroes

Baghdad (news) .. called economic expert to the condensing Sumaisem peace efforts of the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank cooperation to ward off any cases of corruption may occur when you delete the zeros from the currency.

The Sumaisem told Coenurus Agency (news) on Tuesday: It is assumed that intensified efforts during the process of removing the zeros from the Iraqi currency, decision makers the economic, whether by the Ministry of Finance which raise financial decision or the Central Bank, which raises the decision cash.

Jaafari to discuss with the leaders of the Iraqi List, the possibility of rapidly filling the vacant ministries

Baghdad (news) .. search the National Alliance President Ibrahim Jaafari, with Finance Minister and leader of the Iraqi List, Rafie al-Issawi and President of the Iraqi parliamentary bloc Salman Jumaili the overall functioning of the political process and the ongoing updates.

Iraqi bank assets not sufficient for major foreign investment projects
Baghdad, July 12 (AKnews) – The assets of Iraqi backs are not large enough to make their use by international companies realistic, resulting in major investment projects being impeded, the Iraqi Electricity Ministry said today.

Spokesman Musab al-Mudarres told AKnews: “Iraqi banks cannot provide financial guarantees to foreign companies because their capital is below the guarantees expected by corporations.”

“The Ministry of Electricity has submitted a request to the Council of Ministers about the need to facilitate banking transactions and involving well-known foreign banks in the guarantees.”

Baghdad, July 12 (Rn) – The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity Federal, Tuesday, that the bank controls impede contracting with international companies, which would require parliamentary legislation.

The teacher told Musab al-Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the Federal Ministry of Electricity and facing the problem of banking transactions with international companies, as the controls are required to provide letters of guarantee in government banks, raising fears of those companies.”

“The Ministry of Electricity rose to the presidency of the Council of Ministers the need to facilitate banking procedures and the involvement of foreign banks approved and well known in the letters of guarantee.”

Egyptian warplanesErbil, July 12 (Rn) – The government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the U.S. government to agree to complete the deal to sell 36 fighter jets F16, according to the site daily, “Wall Street Journal” U.S..

The newspaper published a story today stating, “The Iraqi government called on the United States to agree to complete the sale of Baghdad 36 fighter aircraft F16 American-made,” noting that “the value of the deal was worth several billion U.S. dollars,” pointing out that “Washington’s goal behind the deal to enable the Iraqi Air Force and limit Iranian influence in the Iraqi arena along with the consolidation of mutual relations with Baghdad, especially after the scheduled withdrawal of troops from Iraqi territory by the end of this year.”

Baghdad, July 12 (AKnews) – Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will travel to China this week in a bid to attract Chinese investors to Iraq, an advisor to the PM said today.

Ali al-Mousawi told AKnews that Maliki will head a trade delegation, following an official invitation from the Chinese government.

Mousawi said Chinese companies are already heavily engaged in investment in Iraq, “but research shows that China is interested in entering in Iraqi market in a much more significant way.

Security and Defence reveal a tendency to abolish the Department of Homeland Security and integrate the institutions of the Interior

Revealed to the Commission on Security and Defense parliamentary Tuesday, the existence of a trend in the prime minister to abolish the Department of Homeland Security, and integrated into institutions of the Ministry of the Interior, as pointed out that all political blocs to support this argument.

A member of the Hassan Jihad in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, “there is a tendency to the prime minister to abolish the Department of Homeland Security within the Plan Limbering Ministerial Government is seeking to be implemented soon,” noting that “The approach requires to cancel and make it an organ of security incorporated into the institutions of the Ministry of Interior “.

Confirmed a coalition of state law, led by Nuri al-Maliki, on Monday, that the committees formed at a meeting of leaders of blocs is now responsible for resolving disputes and outstanding issues between the political blocs.

The MP said the coalition of state law bloc affiliated with the National Alliance, endorsed chewing gum in an interview (twilight) that “the committees formed according to the agreement of the political blocs take it upon themselves to resolve outstanding issues and differences between the political blocs, and for internal affairs.”

Following years of conflict, reconstruction in Iraq is continuing to fuel significant contract awards. The
sheer number of projects underway should drive solid industry growth over the medium term, with growth
in the real value of the construction industry set to average 9.7% between 2011 and 2015. News that the
US$37bn development plan for social and economic infrastructure is progressing provides further upside
to our optimistic forecasts.

With social and economic infrastructure forming a significant portion of government investment, we
expect strong growth to continue over the medium term. In 2011, growth of 15% is expected, due to the
number of contracts awarded. Owing to the substantial project pipeline, real growth is forecast to average
9.7% between 2012 and 2015.

National Alliance to resolve the Ministry of National Security and postpone the issue to the Commission next week

Resolution of the National Alliance at its meeting Tuesday evening debate on the Homeland Security Department after it was scheduled to be transferred to a device for security and not the Ministry.

A source in the alliance from within the meeting room of the reporter and the agency all of Iraq [where] that “the leaders and representatives of the blocks were part of the National Alliance agreed at their meeting today to keep the Homeland Security Department and not transferred to the security apparatus.”

“The House debate on the ministry during a meeting today after launching the theme of conversion to a national security and not the Ministry, but it would resolve to keep in place such as the Ministry.”

Parliament held its tenth meeting, chaired by Tayfur and the presence of 170 deputies

The Council of Representatives, Tuesday, its tenth year, the second legislative chaired by Second Deputy President of the Council and the presence of 170 deputies, with parliamentary source that the meeting will discuss the report from the reality of the Faili Kurds and their problems, as well as read a number of draft laws the most important draft law on combating trafficking in human beings .

BAGHDAD (Iba) .. met yesterday evening, the political body of the National Alliance, led by Ibrahim al-Jaafari and the presence of representatives of the political blocs annexed to it.

Jaafari’s office said that the conferees Tbagesoa the results of the meeting of leaders of political blocs and the last positions on the topics raised and discussed the prospects of the work of the Independent Electoral Commission for elections and ways to improve their work to the level of responsibility to attend to the confidence of all the political blocs.

Announced last night joined the list of the unity of Iraq to the Iraqi List.

BAGHDAD (Iba) … Considered a member of the House of Representatives of the Alliance forces Mahmoud Othman, the Kurdish minister’s visit, U.S. Defense Leon Panetta, the current of Iraq is a precursor to a visit by Vice President Joe Biden anticipated.

Said Othman told the independent press (Iba) The timing of this visit has to do with Balawdaalrahna in Iraq, especially with the controversy over the extension and withdrawal of U.S. troops, adding that he would discuss it with all the Iraqi parties.

Secret memo: U.S. troops remain in Iraq until the 2016
Revealed a secret memo from semi-agreement between Baghdad and Washington over U.S. troops to stay until the end of the year 2016. The note identifies the decisions and rules that will be used by the Americans in Iraq after the end of the year.

The newspaper “term” for Iraq that “the memo show the presence of intense debate among Iraqi and U.S. governments on international forces to be an alternative to the U.S. counterpart after the end of 2011 to protect the border and training Iraqi forces.”

Indonesia’s rupiah and South Korea’s won will lead Asian currency gains for the rest of 2011 as central banks use appreciation to counter inflation, says Credit Suisse Group AG (CSGN), the region’s most-accurate forecaster.

The rupiah will climb 4.5 percent and the won 4 percent in the six months through Dec. 31, after the two currencies were also the best performers in the first half, according to Credit Suisse, which Bloomberg data show had the best projections for the six quarters through June 2011. The Thai baht will climb 4 percent following a peaceful election on July 3, the bank predicted. Barclays Plc (BARC), which ranked second, expects the Taiwan dollar to perform best with a 4.7 percent advance.
