“Fresh Start” Project: The IRS announces the opening of 74 offices this weekend

WASHINGTON –– The Internal Revenue Service will open the doors to dozens of its Taxpayer Assistance Centers across the country this coming Saturday, July 16, 2011, to answer taxpayer questions and provide help with tax filing issues.

This special event is particularly intended for people who want to make a “fresh start” by taking steps to have liens withdrawn. It also provides an opportunity to those who cannot visit an IRS walk-in office during regular weekday hours to speak with IRS personnel about their tax issues.

A total of 74 Taxpayer Assistance Centers will be open in 34 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Taxpayers can find participating offices by visiting the Saturday Service Locations page on IRS.gov.

Kuwait Foreign Minister: Kuwait is keen on good neighborliness with Iraq

KUWAIT, July 14 — Kuwait is keen on having good-neighborly relations with Iraq and coordinating stances on issues of common concern, Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah underscored Thursday.

Upon his departure to Turkey to participate in the fourth meeting of the International Contact Group on Libya, scheduled Friday, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad told reporters that Kuwait does not pay due attention to the hostile remarks made by unofficial and irresponsible Iraqi figures.

“But to our surprise, an Iraqi official had recently made similar hostile remarks against Kuwait,” he noted.

A number of Iraqi MPs have recently attacked Kuwait over a number of marine projects on the Kuwaiti side of the Arabian Gulf.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Legislature of al-Iraqiya Coalition, led by Iyad Allawi, Nahida al-Dainy, has said on Thursday that her Coalition “shall have a different attitude if the Arbil Agreement won’t be settled within two weeks from now.”

Dainy told Aswat al-Iraq news agency that her Coalition had discussed on Wednesday the agreements with the State of Law Coalition, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the recent meeting at the residence of Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani.

CBI: Islamic Bank will support the establishment of fact, the country’s banking

Confirmed adviser to the CBI that the establishment of an Islamic bank government will support the banking reality in the country.

The appearance of Mohammed “Baghdad Post” that “the establishment of an Islamic bank government will support the process of circulation and strengthens by a large capacity of the payments system of Iraq to confront the economic challenges.”

He added that “the Ministry of Finance decided to open an Islamic bank with a capital of 250 billion dinars at a minimum, which Sésm to expand the trading of Islamic banking in line with the movements of the Iraqi capital.”

Ali inch: Kuwaiti MPs told to expel the Iraqi ambassador does not represent the view of state

Baghdad (news) .. A source close to Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki, the prime minister on Thursday sent a request to the House of Representatives requesting the ministries, after al-Maliki was convinced that there should be government Mrhqh the number of ministries (16 – 18) or (20) maximum.

And the source said in a statement singled out by the Agency (news) said on Thursday that “al-Maliki sent his request today to the House and copies of it to the masses politics to begin the process of Limbering, where he will present this Limbering on the political blocs and the House of Representatives after the end of his visit to the Republic of China, which will start by next Monday. “

Rockets hit near Kuwait’s embassy in Baghdad

BAGHDAD: Kuwait’s embassy in Baghdad came under rocket attack yesterday, prompting the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry to recall its diplomats and employees from Iraq. No injuries were reported. A source in Baghdad said three Katyusha rockets fell near the Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad’s Green Zone.

The source said one of the rockets hit the house of Iraq’s deputy PM, while another landed near the embassy’s entrance, shattering windows and shaking doors loose.

Finance Committee: Opening new doors to revenue during the 2012 budget

Announced that the Finance Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives that the budget of 2012 will open new doors of revenue in addition to oil. A member of the Committee MP for a coalition of state law Haitham Jubouri was formed a special committee to draw economic policy to balance the 2012, pointing to the existence of four members of the the Finance Committee were present at this Committee to discuss the budget next year.

Indicating that the Finance Committee is seeking to open up new revenue for budget support in addition to oil, pointing out that these doors are activating the work of Customs and add their revenues to the budget, as well as tax and customs tariff.

The committee called for Council of Ministers to the need to accelerate the application of the law of the latter due to enter the new revenue for Iraq, and the increase will increase the percentage of the budget investment.

BAGHDAD – The decision of the House of Representatives Mohammed Khalidi on Thursday that the House plans to host Prime Minister al-Maliki during the next two weeks to discuss the government program for the next period.
