To help rebuild and reunite its country, Iraq has embarked on a plan to create a nationwide network of internationally competitive athletic venues.

For assistance, the country has turned to the design-build team of Anwar Soura General Contracting Company and 360 Architecture, along with its global team of consultants.

The Anwar Soura/360 Architecture team is now working on three separate sports projects in Iraq. It was recently selected by the country’s Ministry of Youth and Sport to deliver two new 30,000-seat soccer stadiums with practice facilities – one in Al-Menaa, a suburb of the southern city of Basrah, and the other in the city of Najaf, about 100 miles south of Baghdad.

Iraq-based International Development Bank (“IDB”) and Kuwait-based Islamic banking software provider Path Solutions today announced the successful Go Live of iMAL Islamic banking solution at IDB main branch in Baghdad on Thursday the 23rd of June.

Iraq’s central says the country is in need of a new currency in which the current zeros are removed to facilitate commercial transactions.

Central Bank Governor Sinan al-Shabibi said he was in talks with the prime minister, Noor al-Maliki, on how to go ahead with the bid to issue dinars with lower denomination and higher appreciation.

Shabibi said Iraqis were now relying a lot on the U.S. dollar, particularly in settling cash transactions that required a lot of money.

Sout Al Basra’s deputy for Basra, said the weakness of the diplomatic representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, which is almost non-existent makes it imperative for Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s rapid intervention to resolve all outstanding issues with Kuwait during a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart in order to reach effective solutions and quick to resolving these issues .

Parliament is hosting next week, Zebari to discuss the bombing of Iran and the port of Mubarak

Announced a coalition of state law, on Friday, the Iraqi Council of Representatives will host next week, Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to discuss the issue of bombing the Turkish and Iranian Iraqi territories and the latest results of the joint technical committee on Port Mubarak, as he emphasized that the departure of Ambassador to Kuwait of the Iraqi land would Kuwaiti nothing to do with the Iraqi parliament it.

The MP said the state law, Hussein al-Assadi said in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, “Iraqi Council of Representatives will host Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari during the meetings next week to discuss the bombing of the Iranian and Turkish borders of Iraq and abuses border on Iraq,” stressing the need to “inform the Board of Representatives on the last of these developments. “

Iraq’s Justice Minister Hassan Al Shummari announced in a statement that US Forces handed over Camp Cropper to the Justice Ministry.

The US military handed over the prison’s administration including all 196 detainees in exception for 10 which investigation papers are still pending, a source told Alsumaria.

The detainees include 5 officials from the former regime namely Sebaawi Ibrahim, Sultan Hashem, Watban Ibrahim, Hussein Rashid and Aziz Taleb who are sentenced to death, Al Shummari said.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki believes that the strategic policy council is unconstitutional and can be avoided.

The National Alliance in general will not vote in favor of the council.

In a statement to Al Iraqiya, Al Maliki noted that Iraq needs to keep a number of US trainers to train Iraqi Forces on newly purchased air, land and naval weapons.

Iraq may seek to keep U.S. troops in the country past this year to help with training, a role not requiring the approval of a parliament ready to reject continuation of American combat missions, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said today.

“Iraq needs the Americans for training on the sea, air and ground and sea weapons,” he said in an interview with state- sponsored Iraqiya television. “This does not need the approval of parliament,” he said.

Iraq will raise its oil-production as planned to 12 million barrels a day in the next few years, even if actual production is only half that amount, depending on market demand, an Oil Ministry spokesman said.

“The planned production capacity is 12 million barrels a day, but we may only produce 6 million barrels a day,” Asim Jihad told state-sponsored Iraqiya television. “Iraq will produce in accordance with global crude market needs.”

Baghdad (news) .. Office denied Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, raising the issue of port Mubarak during a visit by Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad al-Sabah in Baghdad.

The explanatory statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister received the Agency (news) copy of it: a reference to the statements published in some media attributed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad al-Sabah which reference was made to the Kuwaiti side briefed Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki his recent visit to Kuwait on the port project Mubarak to be created.

Erbil, July 15 (Rn) – A source at the head of the Kurdistan region, said Friday that the Kurdish regional president Massoud Barzani in contact with Iraqi leaders to address the country’s political crisis and resolving security positions.

The head of the Presidium of the region, Fouad Hussein, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the president of the region in contact with Iraqi political leaders, for the current situation in the political arena of the country and the question of security ministries and the relations between Iraq and America,” adding that “these contacts will continue, as it was in contact with them in the past. “

The Hussein that “the initiative of President of the province which was launched after the parliamentary elections, was aimed at the formation of the Iraqi government, but the question of the formation and resolution of positions of the security ministries is one of the functions of the House of Representatives and menus, as is well known, the political parties failed to reach agreement on these issues.” .

Baghdad (NINA) – Deputy Prime Minister, Saleh al-Mutlaq, stressed the necessity to upgrade the private sector, which he considers it a “Major pillar for state building.”

In a press conference held on Wednesday, July 13, at the end of “Providing Work Opportunities Conference through Upgrade Private Sector.”

He said that events that occurred in Iraq have put 192 public industrial establishments and 60 private ones out of work or reduced their productivities.

Maliki renewed his refusal to vote on the Policy Board within the Dome of the Iraqi Parliament

Baghdad, July 15 (Rn) – new coalition led by Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Friday, refusing to vote on the Policy Board within the Iraqi Council of Representatives, noting that the initiative of the Kurdistan Alliance, the last on a combination of the positions of the Iraqi National Alliance on the table in advance and refused at the time.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) called many of the deputies the Iraqi parliament to start using electronic voting, saying that the way primitive way that the voting process by raising the hands reflect the practice of a primitive is rejected by many parliamentarians, calling it turned into a means of undermining and confiscate the will of the deputy in the free expression in favor of the leaders of blocks.

They said that the reactivation of the electronic voting system within the parliament, which was completed since the nearly three years has become inevitable, considering the process of vote by show of hands that are now giving way sometimes to manipulate the outcome of the vote in favor of political deals that are often behind closed doors, ending either by passing the law or agreement not to send draft laws to parliament.

Baghdad (news) .. announced the Ministry of Planning and Cooperation for a development that about 90 percent, a decision in the national development plan from the projects entered in the investment program.

A source from within the Iraqi List, said the list refuses to give her opinion on the subject of a U.S. withdrawal until after the implementation of all the terms of agreement Erbil.

The Kurdistan Alliance MP Mahmoud Othman, a Kurdish coalition that presented a compromise proposal to end the controversy over the Supreme Council policies.

He said: “The proposal includes that the President is elected Council senior policy within the Council itself, and then presented to parliament for a vote.”

Osman said: “The Kurdistan Alliance made this proposal, because it wants to be a party to resolve the problem, although it is not a party.”

Andrew Henderson / The NationalKUWAIT CITY // Construction of a port near Iraq’s coast is moving ahead as scheduled despite increasingly vocal opposition from Baghdad, government engineers said this week.

Iraqis say the Mubarak al Kabeer port being built by Kuwait on Boubyan Island will strangle their own shipping industry by blocking access to the sea through the narrow Khawr Abdullah waterway.

The perceived threat to Iraq’s shipping lanes has led members of the Iraqi parliament to campaign against the Kuwaiti project and Iraqi citizens to protest against it in the coastal city of Basra.
