Talabani heads to America

Directed by President Jalal Talabani, on Monday, to the United States to participate in the session 66 for the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic received the “Twilight News” copy of it, that “President Jalal Talabani left Baghdad Monday morning, heading to New York to participate in the session 66 for the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations, which will take place there.”

Baghdad (news) .. A source close to House Speaker Osama Najafi that the latter would convey a verbal message from Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, to the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, including the possibility of approving the draft law of oil and gas, the sender, with modifications, as well as the Law of the National Council of the policies, deal one .

The source (of the Agency news of the sons) on Monday: that the letter include the approval of the draft law of oil and gas, as amended in the House of Representatives and the adoption of the Law Council of strategic policies, and ensure the application of Article (140) according to the parliamentary committee recently formed, deal one.

The president Jalal Talabani, on Monday, to New York to participate in the session of the 66 meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

A statement issued by the Office of Jalal Talabani, today, received a “Alsumaria News”, a copy of it, that “President Jalal Talabani, left this morning, to New York to participate in the session of the 66 meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations.”

The statement added that “the President of the Republic of Iraq will deliver a speech at the General Assembly as well as to meet a number of leaders of countries.”

Financial markets remained under pressure amid worries over Greek default and US economic slowdown. EU and IMF representatives hold a conference call with Greek Finance Minister regarding whether the country is eligible for getting the next tranche of financial assistance.

In the US, investors are awaiting Obama’s tax proposal which is expected to trim deficit by $1.5 trillion. Oil prices remained pressured as global demand may slowdown after the economy deteriorates. The WTI crude contract for November delivery fell to a 5-day low 86.71.

This represents a -1.67% drop from Friday’s close. The equivalent Brent crude contract continued struggling around 111/112 level. Gold firmed in European session, staying above 1815 as safe-haven demand increased.

Cabinet discussed in its special session on the draft Code of Federal budget for 2012 which includes the allocation of (131) trillion dinars total federal counterbalance an increase of 36% for the year 2011.

The statement said government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said: “Total revenues of the Federal (107.7) trillion dinars, the total deficit of $ (23.3) trillion dinars is covered by the cash retained from the 2011 budget and internal and external borrowing, and the proportion of savings is expected to increase selling prices or increased oil production or borrowing (IMF) and (World Bank). “

The Ministry of Trade of Iraq, Monday, for the conclusion of the regular session of the Council of Arab Economic and Social held in the Egyptian capital Cairo in the presence of Ministers of Economy and Finance Arabs, while confirmed that the Council form a committee to monitor the implementation of the decisions of the Arab Economic Summit held earlier this year, she noted that files that will be adopted at the Arab Summit in Baghdad in the next year.

Manama: Kuwait’s government and media have come under criticism for an alleged poor performance in marketing and highlighting the Mubarak Al Kabeer Port.

Participants at a forum on the issue said that a committee should be formed to handle the dispute on the project as well as other standoffs with Iraq, Kuwaiti daily Al Watan reported on Monday.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: called by President Jalal Talabani on Sunday, to promote economic relations and encourage U.S. companies to work in Iraq, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic was followed by a meeting between Talabani, U.S. Ambassador James Jeffrey.

The statement, received by the agency (Voices of Iraq) a copy of that “meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries in light of the agreement signed between them.”

SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) — South Korea will closely monitor the currency market here as external risks such as the eurozone debt crisis can fuel volatility, a government report showed Monday.

According to the report submitted by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance for its annual parliamentary audit, the government will also keep its policy focus on stabilizing prices in the face of mounting inflationary pressure.

“We will thoroughly monitor such external risks as the eurozone debt crisis and global economic slowdown that could affect the movement of the currency exchange rates here,” the ministry said.
