Iraq is now a member of the world’s largest corporate responsibility pact, the UN Global Pact.

Signatories to the agreement include 135 countries, more than 6,000 companies, and about 3,000 non-governmental organisations from around the world.

“Iraq’s membership in the agreement will give it the chance to verify the credibility, transparency, and track record of the companies that are signatories to the pact, based on grounds and criteria that are transparent and accepted locally and internationally,” secretary-general of the Iraqi cabinet Ali al-Allaq said at a press conference Saturday (October 15th). He said the appearance of Mohamed Saleh, Deputy Governor of the Bank in an interview for “the world” on Monday, that “the Commission agents but most private banks do not have the ability to open appropriations with foreign actors requesting large capital facilities,” pointing out that “the banks do not have a global credit rating because of the conditions of the country”.

Baghdad, Nov. 14 (AKnews) – Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki received an official invitation from the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Naser al-Mouhammed to visit the country and discuss the outstanding issues between the two countries.

According to Maliki’s media consultant Mariam al-Rayyes, Maliki accepted the invitation and he will visit Kuwait in the coming days. (more…)

Baghdad (news) .. Chairman of the General Economy Bank Husam Obeid on the inability of the private banks financing the investment projects in the country that the capital a few.

Obaid said in a statement to the Agency (news) on Monday: The private banks private is able to contribute to the development and implementation of investment projects in the country, as a result of lack of capital that do not fit with the request for investment within the country because they take a lot of money.

Nuri al-MalikiBaghdad, November 14 (Rn) – The Iraqi federal government, on Monday, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki received an invitation from his Kuwaiti counterpart Nasser Hamad to visit Kuwait to discuss outstanding issues between the two countries and find ways to solve them.

The Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki paid an official visit to Kuwait in mid-February and discussed bilateral relations and outstanding issues between the two countries.

With the Kuwaiti Prime Minister Nasser Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Baghdad on 12 January last at the head of a government delegation on a visit where he met Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, the number of Iraqi officials.
