UN to mediate talks between Iraq and Kuwait regarding the end of CH VII sanctions

The auction No. C46 for Central Bank of Iraq bills based on a uniform price auction for IQD 100’000’000’000 par value  for the bills concluded on the 22-11-2011.

Abtan: confusion draw economic policy reason for the delay of the development process in the country

Baghdad (news) .. The member of the Economic and MP / National Alliance / Abdul-Hussein Abtan to the need to develop strategic plans minute for the development of national economy, noting that the reasons Takhramlah development to the economic policy of others and clear in the country.

CBI will issue new denomination bills

BAGHDAD, Nov. 24 (AKnews) – The Iraqi Central Bank (ICB) has confirmed it will issue a new bill with a value of 50,000 IQD ($43 USD) but marked as 50 dinars.

Deputy chairman of the ICB Dr Muzher Saleh said the bank is working to issue this new money in addition to coins in both Arabic and Kurdish in an effort to address the liquidity problem in Iraq.

Economic adviser Abdul Hussein al-Ankabi said last September that this ploy to knock off some zeros will increase the phenomenon of money laundering. (more…)

Gathering support for meetings to determine shape of post-U.S. Iraq

BAGHDAD, Nov. 24 (AKnews) – With the U.S. army withdrawal imminent the deep divides in Iraqi politics and society will hopefully be addressed by cross-party talks.

The Kurdistan Blocs Coalition (KBC), the Kurdish caucus in the national Council of Representatives in Baghdad lent its voice on Thursday to calls for the leaders of the Council’s blocs and coalitions to meet and hammer out deals to resolve disputes.

Vice-President of the Republic Khudayir al-Khuzaei has called for such meetings, while the head of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim renewed his call for the leaders of the blocs to meet and resolve their disputes. (more…)

Iraq postpones the conclusion of a gas deal with Shell and Mitsubishi, for technical reasons

Baghdad, November 24 (Rn) – The Iraqi Oil Ministry, the postponement of a final contract with Shell and Mitsubishi, to collect the associated gas from southern oil fields worth about $ 17 billion.

And was scheduled to conclude a contract on Thursday but was postponed to next Sunday, the ministry said that the delay was due to technical obstacles.

An international organization: Iraq lacks transparency on oil fields

Beirut, November 24 (Rn) – Organization said “any T-F” British specialized in the development of transparency in oil projects in Iraq is a lack of transparency in its dealings in the oil fields.

Iraq had signed contracts with international companies in the energy giant to develop 11 oil fields.

Although the Iraqi government expected the arrival of crude oil production to about 12 million barrels per day by 2017, but experts have questioned the access to the production of that goal, and they said that seven million barrels a day was a reasonable figure.

Iraq was not initiated after the law regulates the oil and gas due to differences on the management of oil wealth, even though imports of oil account for 95 per cent of the country’s financial budget. (more…)

Iraq is preparing to hand over lost archives to Kuwait

House postpones vote on the decision to withdraw the U.S.
