Commerce intends to amend the registration of foreign companies

BAGHDAD – Wafaa Amer revealed the Registrar of Companies at the Ministry of Commerce of the intention to make amendments to Regulation No. 5 of 1989 on registration of foreign companies, while confirming that the draft amendments to the Law of Registration of Companies No. 21 of 1997 is still under examination by the Council of Ministers.

The Director General of the Department Khansa Iskandar told the “morning”: that the department has filed the draft amendments to the Law No. 21 of 1997 regarding the recording of local companies to the advisers of the Cabinet is still under study in this body, indicating that the changes took place in the light of the changes required by the current stage For the purpose of facilitating the process of recording companies and streamline that, especially after the recovery of the economic situation across the country that requires a kind of amendments to the regulations for the registration of companies governed by the law in question, noting that this law will remain in force until the vote on the amendments, expressing the hope that is achieved during the next year. Central Bank of Iraq to provide unified ATM services

The Central Bank of Iraq started the National Switch project to install a unified ATM network in Iraq, the bank announced Sunday (December 18th).

Mazhar Mohammed Jawad, deputy governor of the bank, said at a news conference that the project allows clients of any bank to access their money using a credit card at ATMs installed at markets, train stations, airports and other public places.

Jawad said government and private banks would bear the costs of implementing the project, as well as the cost for purchasing and installing the machines. The Central Bank of Iraq will oversee the project.

The project is due to be completed within six months.

Baghdad, December 21 (Rn) – The Iraqi Commission for Securities, said on Wednesday that the volume of trading amounted to 3 billion and 800 million dinars during the week.

The Executive Director reported to the Securities Commission Abdul Razzaq al-Saadi told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), “The volume of trading during the day amounted to 3 billion and 800 million dinars during the week, which indicates the effectiveness of the Iraqi market for securities.”

Saadi added that “the volume of trading in the market, Iraq Stock Exchange will move upward through the next week because of the enthusiasm of investors to participate in market transactions.” (more…)

Iraqi government announced, Wednesday, said U.S. companies invested will enter Iraq early next year to invest in all areas.

The media adviser to Prime Minister Ali al-Musawi’s “Twilight News”, “A lot of U.S. companies will enter Iraq early next year to invest in all areas of agriculture, industry, construction and others.”

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Wednesday called on authorities in the autonomous Kurdish region to hand over Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, who is wanted on allegations of running a death squad.

“We call for the government of the Kurdistan region to take its responsibility and hand over Hashemi to the justice system,” Maliki told a news conference in Baghdad. “We do not accept any interference in Iraqi justice.” (more…)

The auction No. C48 for Central Bank of Iraq bills based on a uniform price auction for IQD 100’000’000’000 par value was concluded on the 20-12-2011.

The total public bidding is IQD 237’000’000’000 and the cut-off yield (the highest yield of the  successful bidder) determined by the auction was 5.50%.

Maliki: There are no U.S. troops on Iraqi territory

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said about 700 trained U.S. will work to train Iraqi security forces, saying that their presence would be inside the camps, denying the existence of any American soldier on the land of Iraq, or what has been said about the survival of 15,000 employees at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad .

Baghdad to build American university

BAGHDAD, Dec. 21 (AKnews) – The local government in Baghdad announced Wednesday it had agreed to build an American university in Bismaya area southeast of the capital at a cost of $245 million USD (286 billion IQD).

The Chairman of the Planning and Follow-up Commission in Baghdad Provincial Council Mohammed al-Rabie told AKnews the faculty will be limited to science, engineering and medicine and it has the approval of the Ministry of Education, leaving only simple administrative procedures to be implemented.
