Congress’s (people): Washington does not work on removing Iraq from Chapter VII during the years of occupation

Commerce intends to amend the registration of foreign companies

BAGHDAD – Wafaa Amer revealed the Registrar of Companies at the Ministry of Commerce of the intention to make amendments to Regulation No. 5 of 1989 on registration of foreign companies, while confirming that the draft amendments to the Law of Registration of Companies No. 21 of 1997 is still under examination by the Council of Ministers.

The Central Bank of Iraq started the National Switch project to install a unified ATM network in Iraq, the bank announced Sunday (December 18th).

Mazhar Mohammed Jawad, deputy governor of the bank, said at a news conference that the project allows clients of any bank to access their money using a credit card at ATMs installed at markets, train stations, airports and other public places.

Jawad said government and private banks would bear the costs of implementing the project, as well as the cost for purchasing and installing the machines. The Central Bank of Iraq will oversee the project.

The project is due to be completed within six months.

Baghdad, December 21 (Rn) – The Iraqi Commission for Securities, said on Wednesday that the volume of trading amounted to 3 billion and 800 million dinars during the week.

The Executive Director reported to the Securities Commission Abdul Razzaq al-Saadi told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), “The volume of trading during the day amounted to 3 billion and 800 million dinars during the week, which indicates the effectiveness of the Iraqi market for securities.”

Saadi added that “the volume of trading in the market, Iraq Stock Exchange will move upward through the next week because of the enthusiasm of investors to participate in market transactions.” (more…)

Iraqi government announced, Wednesday, said U.S. companies invested will enter Iraq early next year to invest in all areas.

The media adviser to Prime Minister Ali al-Musawi’s “Twilight News”, “A lot of U.S. companies will enter Iraq early next year to invest in all areas of agriculture, industry, construction and others.”

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Wednesday called on authorities in the autonomous Kurdish region to hand over Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, who is wanted on allegations of running a death squad.

“We call for the government of the Kurdistan region to take its responsibility and hand over Hashemi to the justice system,” Maliki told a news conference in Baghdad. “We do not accept any interference in Iraqi justice.” (more…)
