BAGHDAD, Dec. 22 (AKnews) – A security source told AKnews this morning that an explosive device hit the motorcade of deputy governor for the Central Bank of Iraq, Mudhar Mohammed Saleh, in Waziriya district, north of Baghdad.
Saleh survived the explosion but to bystanders were hit.
Two car bombs, a mortar and three IED cost 13 dead, 28 wounded so far today in Baghdad.

BAGHDAD – Babinaoz (Reuters) – Secretary of State called on the European Union, Catherine Ashton, the Iraqi government and political forces in Iraq to resolve their differences through dialogue.
She Ashton said in a statement expressed “deep concern about the information coming from Iraq and developments related to the Interior.”
She said “I call urgently and the Iraqi government and all political forces to launch a comprehensive dialogue to overcome political differences.”

Killing six and injuring dozens of bombings in Baghdad
A source in the Iraqi police on Thursday that dozens of people were killed and wounded six car bombs and explosive belts in different parts of the capital Baghdad.
The source said in a press statement: “The two car bombs exploded simultaneously in the area of Abu Dshir, south of Baghdad, a car bomb followed by a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt near a fairness in the Karrada district, central Baghdad,” adding that “two car bombs exploded simultaneously in the Alawi neighborhood, central Baghdad, killing and injuring dozens of people. ” (more…)
