I like the goal of transition to a market economy and to activate the forces of supply and demand in the management of the Iraqi economy and one of the most important procedural steps

That have been adopted for the advancement and modernization of the Iraqi economy according to a vision dependent stimulation of individual initiatives and reduce the role of the state that came out exhausted after two and half decades of war and economic blockade.

In spite of the absence of strategic economic specify paths this transformation and the prospects of time in accordance with deliberate steps create economic sectors that contribute to the activation of new directions, but many of the ministries and government institutions took the initiative to reach this goal, which created some confusion in the performance which gave the impression inversely the supporters of these measures. Iraq: Visa and residency for foreign energy workers will be easier

BAGHDAD, Feb. 11 (AKnews) – Obtaining visas and residency for foreign oil and electricity workers will be sped up in a bid to boost the economy.

The government will streamline the bureaucracy foreign workers face to a mere two-week waiting period instead of months after heeding complaints from several overseas companies.

Faisal al-Abdullah, the spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Deputy for Economic Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristani, told AKnews that: “Granting visas and residence permissions may take two or three months and this causes delay in the work of companies. (more…)

CBI Deputy Governor: Dinar became more like a strong and hard currency

Kuwaiti minister: the pressure on Iraq to share Summit is not our policy and the Prince will attend

Said Kuwaiti Information Minister Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, it is not the policy of his country’s pressure on Iraq to make concessions in order to attend the Arab Summit to be held in Baghdad on 29 March.

BAGHDAD, Feb.10 (AKnews)- Funding the Sahwa Councils’ members from the national budget is “legal” due to the “significant” role the Councils played in securing the country, an official said today.

Amer Khuzayee, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s advisor for national reconciliation affairs, told AKnews that funding the Sahwa (Awakening Councils or Forces) from 2012 budget does not contradict with the Iraqi Constitution. (more…)

Erbil, February 11 (Rn) – The Iraqi National Accord Movement, all political forces to adopt a spirit of compromise embodied in the Convention to Arbil, in order to the success of the forthcoming national conference called by President Jalal Talabani.

Baghdad, February 11 (Rn) – The Iraqi government represented by the Ministry of State for Provincial Affairs, Saturday, The problem of allocation of plots of land investment has been resolved, indicating that during the period of 60 days has been allocated a plot of land about 200 to invest in all the provinces.

BAGHDAD, Feb. 11 (AKnews) – The Acting Oil and Energy Committee at the House of Representatives will meet with Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahrestani and Oil Minister Abdul-Kareem Luaibi on Wednesday to discuss oil production developments.

BAGHDAD – Babinaoz (Reuters) – Oil continues to differences between the central government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government in Arbil, in spite of the meetings and talks between the two sides, with the survival of the draft law of oil and gas in place within the ranges of the Iraqi parliament awaiting approval.
