A quick historical look back over the past 8 months

A quick historical look back over the past 8 months and we will see the CBI and the GOI have been coordinating together in implementing currency reform in Iraq.

While we often see contentious behavior or disagreements among the politicians regarding currency reform specifically “dropping of the zero’s” it is evident the CBI is convincing enough for GOI officials within parliament and the finance committee to agree.

In January 2012 we were first alerted to a phase type plan implemented by the CBI or perhaps the CBI in cohorts with the GOI.  This plan indicated three phases would be needed to fulfill the currency reform plan contrived by the CBI. (more…)

Baghdad (news) .. House of Representatives voted in the Twentieth Meeting held under the chairmanship of Osama al-Chairman of the Board of Representatives and the presence of 209 MPs on Thursday, on the four draft laws, as well as end the discussion of the federal budget.

A statement by the Council has received the Agency (news) a copy of it today Thursday: that at the beginning of the meeting initiated by any of the Holy Quran, the Council voted on the health of the membership of Ali Abdullah Hamoud Alsjeri in the House of Representatives. (more…)

International Atomic Energy Agency reconsiders the importance of Iraqs oil, globally

Announced that the International Atomic Energy Agency, which represents oil-consuming countries, it is a “reconsideration of an extensive study of” on Iraq, especially on oil production is “a fundamental issue for the future of world energy.”

And considered the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Maria van der Hoeven said in a statement that “Iraq’s energy sector is at once essential to the reconstruction and development of the Iraqi economy and involves a great importance to the prospects of the world.” (more…)

Parliament Speaker Najafi asserts a vote on the budget will take place next Monday

said Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Najafi, said Thursday that next Monday will vote on the budget for the current year 2012, stressing that the delay adoption of the budget has caused significant damage in the areas of investment.

Nujaifi said during a session of the House of Representatives today, “Today we must complete all of our discussions on the general budget for the current year 2012 and resolve all differences which even called us the command to move the session to late at night in order to preserve the interests of the citizens related to the budget, “asserting that” next Monday will vote against it. ” (more…)

Baghdad, February 16 (Rn) – The Foreign Relations Committee, the parliamentary, Thursday, for not taking note of the report, “publication” of the Technical Committee-governmental organizations on the port of Mubarak, despite many calls, while confirming that the President of the advisers responded to all questions raised by the Committee.

Iraq had sent a committee of technical experts in August last August to prepare a detailed report on the Port Mubarak and negative effects that I found on the navigation of Iraq. Parliament reconvenes today; Further budget discussions

The Council of Representatives, Thursday, its the 20 of the second legislative term of the year the second legislative, headed by Speaker Osama Najafi and the presence of 223 deputies, with parliamentary source that the meeting will vote on the request for the Mayor of Baghdad Sabir al-Issawi from his position and vote on eight bills, and the continuing debate budget bill for fiscal year 2012.

The source said in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, “House of Representatives held this morning, its the 20 of the second legislative term of the year the second legislative under the chairmanship of the House of Representatives Osama Najafi and his two deputies, and the presence of 223 deputies,” noting that “the meeting will vote on the exemption request Mayor of Baghdad, Sabir al-Issawi and vote on the legal residence of foreigners, and the Iraqi National Monitoring to prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction, and the continuing discussion of the bill the federal budget for fiscal year 2012. ” (more…)

Decline in the exchange rate of the Iraqi currency in a banner during the past few days against foreign currencies, particularly the U.S. dollar, raising fears among the citizens of the continuing decline.

And Some attribute this decline to an asylum Central Bank of Iraq to implement more stringent measures in the recent past regarding its sales of hard currency, especially the dollar, which has led to a lack of circulation in the markets and increase demand and thereby increase its value against the dinar, but others believed that the currency’s decline due mainly to the withdrawal of America and the growing divide between politicians, threatening the stability of the country. Baghdad, February 16 (Rn) – The Iraqi government said on Thursday that what is handed down from the possibility of transferring the Arab summit, from Iraq to another country does not have implications requires a position of Baghdad, while confirming that the transfer of the Arab summit is not between overnight.

Revealed Egyptian press reports, citing Lebanese sources and the other Jordanian Arab telecom acknowledged the existence of intensive targeting a mini-Arab summit called for by Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi capital Riyadh in substitute for the Arab summit to be held in Baghdad at the end in March next year. Baghdad (news) .. Proposed banking expert Mohsen Ali awareness programs banking by monetary policy to the citizen for his guidance in how to deal with the technologies of banking business.

Accused the committee of economy and investment in the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Thursday, parties in the House of trying to block passage of a law payment on credit “for political purposes,” and urged the adoption of the law as soon as possible to its economic importance, as called for political blocs to the separation of their differences and laws of concern to the Iraqi citizen.

A member of the Committee Aziz Sharif Mayahi in a statement issued today, and received “Alsumaria News”, a copy of it, that “some parties within the House of Representatives are striving to impede the passage of a law payment on credit for political purposes,” asserting that “these parties do you think they will weaken the government through this act. ” (more…)

Dhi Qar: Rafidain Bank to stop lending until further notice

Announced branch of the Rafidain Bank in the province of Dhi Qar stopped granting loans from the 15 of February, running until further notice, at the direction of the Ministry of Finance in the federal government.

He said the branch manager Hussein Abadi Nasiriyah News Network that the decision excluded the commercial loans, credit facilities and loans that have obtained the official approvals before this date. (more…)

CBI dollar sales increases to 126 million on Wednesday

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The sale of dollars in the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) auction today reached 126 million dollars, compared to 98 million from the previous session.

The exchange rate reached to 1166 Iraqi dinars for one dollar. (more…)

Maliki: Iraq is ready to strengthen the bonds of unity among Muslims

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Iraq’s willingness to cooperate with the Organization of Islamic Conference to strengthen the bonds of unity among Muslims.

A statement by the Office of the Prime Minister that «Maliki during a meeting with a delegation from the Organization of Islamic Conference headed by Mehdi Fathallah confirmed the readiness of Iraq to cooperate with the Organization for the consolidation of unity among Muslims and promote bonds of love and brotherhood among them ».

He added that« the conditions of the region and the nature of the threats it faces from home and abroad requires more cooperation and coordination to reject sectarian strife and that Iraq has succeeded in overcoming this stage and dominated the brotherhood and love among all its components », calling on the Organization of Islamic Conference to« play a bigger role in the promotion of unity among Muslims ».

The statement continued that« the delegation, which Prime Minister acknowledged a letter from the Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference said that the organization believes that Iraq is capable of playing a key role in this area, and that he is qualified to lead the initiative expanded to promote unity among Muslims, stressing pride the progress made in Iraq in recent years
