BAGHDAD, April 10 (AKnews) – The finance committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives today warned about the deterioration of the Iraqi economy due to the low exchange rate of the dinar to the US dollar, assuring that proposals are underway to get the country back on its feet.
Committee member Shawrash Mustafa said the committee began to study the deterioration of the Iraqi dinar exchange rate and put in place several methods to halt the crisis. The proposals will be delivered to the Ministry of Finance and Iraqi Central Bank (ICB). (more…)

BAGHDAD (Iba) .. The head of the House of Representatives Osama Najafi said non-dependence of the government’s central bank prevents the seizure of Iraq’s money or the implementation of international rules against Iraq by the creditors.
Nujaifi said in a statement received by the independent press (Iba) a copy of it today during a meeting with central bank governor Mohammed al-Shabibi in his office we Nakdaly that the central bank is independent and responsible according to the provisions of Article 103, paragraph 2, of the Iraqi Constitution, as well as Article 2/2 of Iraqi Central Bank Act 56 of 2004 which states, in order to achieve the goals of the Iraqi Central Bank and to accomplish its tasks, the Central Bank of Iraq independent and responsible as provided for by this law.
