BAGHDAD, June 17 (AKnews) – Iraqiya List stated today that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is clear that he does not want to hear any criticism or opposition or exercise peaceful democracy in the framework of the law and the constitution.
List spokesman Maisoun al-Damlouji said in a statement: “Maliki called the MPs and leaders who criticize him and his behavior according to the constitution and peaceful and democratic means conspirators because they demand to withdraw confidence from him.
“This is evidence that this man [Maliki] refuses the principles of partnership and the principles of reconciliation and refuses to work according to the constitution, and this is threatening for the political process which is suffering from exclusivity in taking political, security, service and economic decisions. Joint work is impossible with Maliki.
Iraqiya, the Kurdish Blocs Coalition and the Sadrist Movement are seeking to withdraw confidence from Maliki’s government after accusing him of dictatorship. Their efforts faced a setback after PM Maliki was able to attract about 20 MPs from Iraqiya to his side.
