Member of the Economic Committee: Syria and Iran situations will negatively affect the Iraqi market

Baghdad (News) … Member of the Economic Commission of the National Alliance Deputy//Ibrahim Al-Rikabi, political crises and disturbances in Syria and Iran negatively impede Iraq’s economy.

Rikabi said (to news agency news) on Sunday: the worsening political crisis in Syria and the UN Security Council threatened to impose economic sanctions on Iran have a direct impact on the Iraqi economy, stating that Iraq imported a lot of fruits and vegetables from Syria and stop will lead to higher prices in local markets.

He added that Iran’s threats to close the Strait of Hormuz would affect adversely the economy of Iraq issued most of the oil through the Gulf, passing through Hormuz.

He noted: the Iraq oil ports and Jordan weak and insecure, and the port is across the Bay, thus closing the Strait would negatively affect the export of oil and commodities from Iraq
