Baghdad said the UN Special Representative in Iraq Monday that the Iraqi Parliament passed a law on oil and gas exploration is one of the priorities of the international organization which formed a team to follow up on this file.

The Act is designed to regulate the oil sector in Iraq and establish rules for revenue sharing between the Central Government and the provinces still include Parliament years ago. The Special Representative said Martin Kobler told AFP that “a team from the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq working on this file.” (more…)

Commission held oil and gas parliamentary, Thursday, that resolving the outstanding issues between the governments of central and Kurdistan region depends on the good faith between the parties, and while confirming that there are a lot of things can be resolved only in coordination with the central government, she noted that a delegation of them visited the region and will report to the Presidency of the parliament.

Reliable sources told the “morning” that the meeting will be held between representatives anticipated from the central government and provincial government to resolve the file oil and gas law, which is still at a standstill for more than 5 years.

The sources confirmed that the meeting may resolve the debate over this law is important, paving the way for the leadership of Iraq to the world oil market, especially with the policies of the government to increase production and exports. Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki that “the main reason for the complexity of the work of the provincial councils due to the lack of power of the existing law of the provinces.”

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Wednesday that “every piece of Iraq’s territories

must be under control by the Central Govenment, warning against the announcement of federations and regions, because the current time is not suitable for such decisions.”

“Iraq’s unity is a red line, we won’t bargain upon,” Maliki said in a speech during reception of leaders of intellectuals of
southern Iraq’s Karbala city, screened by Iraq’s semi-official al-Iraqiya TV Satellite Station, adding that “every part of Iraq’s territories must be under control by the Central Government.” (more…)

Baghdad (news) .. agree with Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki and KRG President Dr. Barham Saleh, on, adopted specific mechanisms to resolve problems between the central government and the region.

A statement by the Information Office of the owners received the Agency (news) a copy of it on Tuesday: that the President Ministers discussed during his meeting with the provincial government and the delegation accompanying him, in his official office, outstanding matters between the Central Government and the Government of the Territory, was agreed on, adopted specific mechanisms to resolve these problems, and research in these matters thoroughly by the specialized committees.
