Finance Committee proposes suggestions on the application of customs within the country

The Finance Committee member suggested Deputy National Secretary of the Alliance, General Customs authority procedures on imported goods within provinces and cities to prevent delay entry of goods and their accumulation in border ports.

Hadi said in a press statement: “the Customs General Authority procedures not applicable at all border crossing points, particularly in Kurdistan, this is unfair to some importers subject to procedures and delayed entry of goods and other northern ports passed without complications”. (more…)

Erbil, July 27 (Rn) – accused the decision of the Committee on Finance and Investment in the Iraqi parliament, on Friday, the federal government not to apply the tariff system in the country in response to internal and external pressures.

Baghdad (AIN) -MP, Abdul Hussein Resan, the member of the parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee revealed that “The traders are the only beneficiaries by neglecting applying the Tariff Law in Iraq,” clarifying that “All goods and materials are imported from bad origins.

The source said that the ministry has sent a formal letter to the Directorate of Customs General confirmed the postponement of work tariff customs to the end of this year, due to rising prices significantly, as well as non-completion of instructions or materials to be exempted from taxes.

Finance announces postponement of the new mechanism of action statement customs

Both the Ministry of Finance and the General Customs Authority, to postpone action mechanism of the new customs statement until the fifteenth of July of this, while retaining the rates of withholding tax on fees for the reconstruction of Iraq’s five-percent of the value of the goods.
