Erbil (AIN) -A delegation from the Iraqi central government headed by Falih al-Fayadh, Advisor of the National Security with membership of each of Tariq Najim, official of Premier’s office and, Maj. Gen. Babaqir Zibari, head of the Army Staff, visited Erbil on Sunday.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, PUK, reported “The delegation was welcomed by Kosert Rasoul, Kurdistan Region’s Vice President, Najervan Barzani, KR Prime Minister, and Barham Salih, Second Deputy of PUK’s Secretary General, along with other Kurdish officials.” (more…)

Baghdad (NINA) – A delegation from the Federal Government, headed by National Security Advisor, Faleh al-Fayadh, arrived on Sunday, May 12, in Erbil.

Oil and Energy Committee, Tuesday, about the possibility of merging drafts within the House as proposals for oil and gas law to draft one to take out a uniform law is apt to vote in Parliament.

MP Committee Member said Hasan gave in a press statement that “most of the points in the drafts of the political blocs agreed on controversial points do not exceed five points all in terms of contracting, production and financial amounts and purposes.” (more…)

Revealed to the oil and energy parliamentary, that political blocs agreed to pass the draft law of oil and gas for the year 2011 made by the government to the House of Representatives, pointing to the mini-committee set up by Parliament worked to make some amendments to this draft according to the political consensus.

The Kurdistan Alliance, expressed optimism Ptousel parties to agree on a draft oil law, stressed that the enactment of the Oil and Energy is an end to the political crisis in which we live a long time ago, revealing that the Kurdish negotiating delegation will return to Baghdad after the holiday to complete the talks with Baghdad. Confirmed the Kurdistan Alliance, said Friday that an agreement Baghdad and the Kurdistan region to pay the dues of the oil companies will contribute to enactment of a law of oil and gas.

ERBIL, Sept. 15 (AKnews) – Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) have verbally agreed on solving the issue by increasing KRG’s oil exports and reimbursing the suspended dues of foreign oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL, September 8 (AKnews) – The Kurdistan Region’s oil plan is to produce one million barrels of oil per day over the next couple of years and this size of production will end the political dispute between Iraq and the region, said Genel chief executive Tony Hayward.

Hayward said: “The scale of the opportunity for Kurdistan and for Iraq is so large that there will be a resolution.
“We’d like to be exporting and believe strongly that over the next year or so, if not well before, that resolution will be arrived at.” (more…)

ERBIL, Sept.7 (AKnews)-Next meeting over choosing one of the three oil and gas bills will be held next week, said coordinator for oil and gas committee at the Iraqi Council of Representatives.

The first oil and gas bill introduced in 2007 was suspended due to lack of political consensus. A second one has been proposed by the oil and gas committee and the third one by deputy prime minister for energy affairs, Hussein Shahrestani in 2011. (more…)
