Baghdad (NINA) – The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Martin Kobler, welcomed resuming Iraqi Airways on Wednesday, Feb. 27, its flights from Baghdad to Kuwait after stoppage of more than 22 years.

In a statement on Thursday, Feb. 28, Kobler considered the move as a big achievement for Iraq and Kuwait that opens a new page in their bilateral relations. (more…)

Baghdad (AIN) –The Ministry of Transportation decided to resume the air flights between Iraq and Kuwait at the end of next week.

The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Transportation, Karim al-Nouri, reported to AIN on Thursday ”The air flights of (Baghdad-Kuwait) airline will be resumed on next Thursday,” noting that “The date was appointed by the Ministry of Transportation.” (more…)

(AIN) -Basra local government revealed that Kuawit has concluded a contract with an Israeli security company to secure the Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders.

The chairman of Basra Provincial Council, Sabah al-Bazouni said in a statement that “We objected the contract concluded between Kuwait and an international security company to protect the borders with Iraq since this company is owned by Israeli businessmen.” (more…)

A Kuwaiti official source announced that Iraq will hand over compensation of Kuwait Airways early next week.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Sabah Al-Khalid announced the approval of Kuwait to settle the issue of compensation of Kuwait Airways in 23 , October 2012, and Emir of Kuwait signed an Emiri Decree approving the financial settlement reached between the two sides where Iraq pays / 500 / million dollars in final compensation to Kuwait Airways.

MP for the province of Basra Jawad Albzona Kuwait takeover of more than 11 oil fields, in addition to the base or marine قصدر and number of farms after the annexation of more than 80 Kilwa meters inside its territory, calling for the formation of committees to resolve outstanding problems.

The Kuwaiti newspaper al-Qabas quoted sources as the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Kuwaiti parliament as saying that the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sabah Al-Khalid said during a recent committee meeting that the Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah gave instructions to resolve all outstanding issues between Kuwait and Iraq.
