The Iraqi Parliament has decided on Sunday to postpone its session to Jan. 17th, due to the non-completion of the legal majority for today’s session, a Parliament’s media source announced today.
“The Parliament’s Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, has decided to postpone the Parliament’s session today to the 17th of January, due to the non-completion of the legal majority of today’s session, attended by 140 out of the Parliament’s 325 Members,” the media source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. The Financial; Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, and the International Monterey Fund (IMF), reached an agreement regarding controversial items in the draft law of 2012 budget.
Haitham al- Jobori member of the committee from the State of Law Coalition , in a press statement said that Parliament’s session today, January 03, will witness the first reading of the aforementioned draft law.
The committee reached a settlement over most objections by the International Monetary Fund about the budget., al- Jobori said

Erbil, May 29 (Rn) – The judge in Baghdad Rusafa Mohamed Abdel Taiss Sunday, said the consumer protection law lacks a mechanism for inspection Tflih.

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq – The Iraqi Parliament has held its normal session on Saturday, under chairmanship of its Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, with the attendance of 221 out of its 325 Members, a Parliament source said.
“The Parliament has held its 49th session, under chairman of Nujeify and attendance of 221 MPs, to discuss the draft-law on the ratification of the Pan-Arab Agreement to facilitate the transfer of the Arab production between Iraq and the Arab Education, Culture & Sciences Organization,” the source said.

Erbil, March 22 (AKnews)- A lawmaker said officials from the Iraqi and Kuwaiti foreign ministries are expected to discuss some suspended issues March 27.
Shwan Mohammed Taha, told AKnews the meeting was arranged by the Iraqi parliament delegation to Kuwait.
A delegation comprising 27 lawmakers, headed by Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Nujaifi, left for Kuwait Saturday and returned home late Monday night.

The visit of Iraq’s Parliament Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, for Kuwait, scheduled to start on Saturday, “aims at improving relations between the Iraqi Parliament and the Kuwait National Council.”
“A Parliamentary Delegation, led by Nujeify, flew to Kuwait on Saturday, to discuss the improvement of relations between both sides,” Iraq’s Parliament Member, Ali al-Allaq, said, adding that the visit “is expected to reach closer relations to settle the suspended problems between both sides.
Asked whether Nujeify’s visit for Kuwait would cover the current events in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Allaq said: “The visit had been planned since long and its schedule did not include such topics,” adding that “the main goal of the visit is to develop relations between the Iraqi Parliament and the Kuwaiti National Council; and has no relation with the issue of Bahrain.”

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The current year is expected to witness the activation of the anti-poverty strategy by the Iraqi authorities, aimed at decreasing the percentage of poverty in the country from 23% to 16% by the year 2014, according to the Planning Ministry’s Central Statistics Body on Tuesday.
