Saw inflation indicators for the month of July in rates stable compared with the previous month of June after it posted a slight rise (0.3%). At the time of announcing the CBI annual inflation basis for the month of July to 140.7%.

Annual inflation index rose in Iraq rose 5.7 percent after rising rents and the cost of living and services.
Said the spokesman of the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation of Iraq Abdul-Zahra al-Hindawi, said that «indicators annual inflation for the period of the month in July 2011 until the same month this year rose 5.7 percent for reasons of higher prices of goods and services, which include food, rent, transportation, communications, health and education» . In few days, Iraq will be implementing taxes and tariffs law amidst traders and observers’ discontent after they called not to rush the law implementation before its finalization. Finance Ministry more specifically the General Commission for Customs insists upon implementing the law by end of June by virtue of the ministry’s executive authorities that do not permit to stop the law execution. Arbil, March 19 (Rn) – Economic Commission renewed its claim to the parliamentary Monday Iraqi Council of Ministers to create the basic introductions to the activation of the Tariff Act.
The Iraqi Finance recently decided to activate the Tariff Act in Iraq as of June next after Tagelin row.
According to the parliamentary economic committee that activation of the tariff will provide additional financial revenue to the state treasury could be invested in the revitalization of agricultural and industrial sectors, but economists believe the futility of activating the law.

The World Bank says it expects Iraq’s gross domestic product (GDP) to grow by 12.6 percent in 2012, and 10.2 percent in 2013, following a growth of 9.6 percent last year.
If achieved, this would give a compound growth of 36 percent in just three years.
This follows a downward revision of growth expectations for the world as a whole, with the global economy expected to expand 2.5 and 3.1 percent in 2012 and 2013 (3.4 and 4 percent when calculated using purchasing power parity weights), versus the 3.6 percent projected in June for both years.
