Plans for a joint Kuwait and Iraq airline, part funded using the compensation paid to Kuwait Airways for aircraft taken during Saddam Hussein’s invasion of the Gulf state, are expected to be finalised before the end of the year.

“A Kuwaiti-Iraqi technical team is currently working on preparing the formula, work mechanism and structure of the new company to be brought to life in the near future,” sources told the Kuwait Times. (more…)

BAGHDAD (Iba) by Abdul Rahman Al-Majidi from Amsterdam / in the time called for an official delegation and media Kuwait to the need for Iraq’s accession to the Gulf Cooperation Council, is preparing the Iraqi capital Baghdad to host a meeting of the joint committees between Iraq and Kuwait on Sunday to study the outstanding issues, and solutions to a final action.

The rapprochement between the two countries after a series of dialogues and meetings between the two culminated in the presence of the Emir of Kuwait to Baghdad summit at the end of March / March, to put an end to more than twenty years of estrangement because of the invasion of Kuwait, Saddam’s regime in the second of August / August 1990.
