Economy committee criticizes fourth delay of application of customs law in Iraq

ERBIL, July 28 (AKnews) – The economic committee in the Council of Representatives has criticized the delay in the application of the customs law in the country.

Erbil, July 27 (Rn) – accused the decision of the Committee on Finance and Investment in the Iraqi parliament, on Friday, the federal government not to apply the tariff system in the country in response to internal and external pressures.

Baghdad (AIN) -MP, Abdul Hussein Resan, the member of the parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee revealed that “The traders are the only beneficiaries by neglecting applying the Tariff Law in Iraq,” clarifying that “All goods and materials are imported from bad origins.

Baghdad, June 5 (Rn) – The parliamentary Finance Committee on Tuesday it had sent two proposals to the Iraqi Ministry of Finance of the Federal Law on the application of the customs tariff at the time confirmed that the application of the law will equip Iraq to enter the World Trade Organization.

Arbil, March 19 (Rn) – Economic Commission renewed its claim to the parliamentary Monday Iraqi Council of Ministers to create the basic introductions to the activation of the Tariff Act.

The Iraqi Finance recently decided to activate the Tariff Act in Iraq as of June next after Tagelin row.

According to the parliamentary economic committee that activation of the tariff will provide additional financial revenue to the state treasury could be invested in the revitalization of agricultural and industrial sectors, but economists believe the futility of activating the law.

Iraqi justice minister, a formal letter to the Chairman of the Committee to Protect Iraq’s assets Rose Nuri Shaways asking to approach the U.S. side to restore what is left, which was monitored by the Inspector General of the amounts subject to the restoration and of (5.27) million dollars. Activation of the Tariff Act next month

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Deputy parliament speaker Aref Taifour said today that the parliament is keenly following the investigations related to the fate of Iraqi funds and waiting the final report from the General Inspector for the Reconstruction of iraq, according to a statement issued by his office.

The statement added that Taifour met deputy General Inspector for the Reconstruction of Iraq Ginger Cruze and discussed the fate of Iraqi funds in a transparent way.

Iraq postpones tariff to work next year

Baghdad, August 8 / August (Rn) – The Iraqi Ministry of Finance said on Monday the postponement of the Tariff Act of work until next year because of the absence of mechanisms of action and high commodity prices in the Iraqi market.

The Iraqi Ministry of Finance has been postponed in February 16 of a law the tariff for an indefinite period because of some of the obstacles faced by the law and the mechanisms of action.

The Information Officer for the Office of the Minister of Finance Mohamed Zaid told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the ministry has sent a formal letter to the Directorate General of Customs requesting the postponement of work applying the tariff until the beginning of next year.”
