Oil investors: Don’t forget Iraq. While Libya’s clashes dominate the oil market, Iraq will have far more impact on prices in the medium term. This weekend’s bomb attack on the Baiji oil refinery was a timely reminder.

Baiji is small, processing less than 0.4% of global oil supply. But the attack is troubling for two reasons.

Baghdad, February 8 (Rn) – The Commission on oil and energy parliamentary, Tuesday, that the law of oil and gas requires a political consensus between the blocks before they are discussed within the Commission, stating that the law may be voted on during the ten days provided that the political agreement.

The committee member said Bayazid Hassan, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), “The oil and gas law had not been included so far within the functions of the Commission on oil and gas representative,” noting that “the law needs to be political consensus between the blocks before going it to the House of Representatives.”

MP for a coalition of state law were part of the National Alliance Kamal Saadi that there is movement of oil in the south to export the largest possible quantity of oil to improve the economy of Iraq.

And Saadi said in a statement singled out by the correspondent of the Agency for News News (et): The operation of oil is an essential part, begun to move on track.

Sulaimaniya, Feb.6 (AKnews)- A member of the oil and gas committee in the Iraqi parliament said Saturday the compensation of the foreign oil exploring and drilling companies functioning in the Kurdistan Region is stipulated in the Iraqi budget 2011, while he urged the Kurdish administration to present the Iraqi government with details of its oil contracts to be entitled the right.

The Iraqi oil ministry has agreed with its Kurdish counterpart to pay exploration costs and expenses to the foreign firms working in the northern Kurdish region, a spokesman for Iraq’s oil ministry said on Wednesday.

Oil Ministry spokesman Asim Jihad told Reuters that the State Oil Marketing Organisation (SOMO) will be responsible for payments to the companies, which will be made through the Kurdish Natural Resources Ministry.
