Mr. Ibrahim al-Assuj, said in an interview with al-Baghdad TV: “I was surprised by Martin Kobler’s remarks.. It was proper him that instead of categorizing the demands of masses of protesters as legal and illegal ones, he would asked the Iraqi Government, Parliament and the High Judicial Council to respect the rights of protestors. I have been searching through the news since early this morning and nothing relevant is making the wires. However it would appear the protests in Iraq is still a major concern for the United Nations as well as politicians in Iraq. Some in the middle east are waging if this could be Iraq’s Arab Spring. But I am not so sure there is enough support to pull Maliki from his post. (more…)
