attributed the parliamentary economic committee, on Friday, not to stimulate investment projects in the country to delay the National Investment Commission to send the required amendments to the Investment Law to the House of Representatives

said a member of the Economic Committee Salman al-Moussawi’s Center Brief Iraqi Media Network that “the Commission has not yet received the paragraphs to be modified from the investment law and demanded by the National Investment Commission in order to attract investment companies” (more…)

Investment Authority: We seek to make another amendment to the Investment Law with the radical changes to ensure the right investor

Announced that the national investment, on Tuesday, it seeks to amend the last to the Investment Law No. 13 of 2006 which was amended paragraphs in 2009, pointing to the existence of things, mainly in the First Amendment did not apply on the ground, while confirming that it is studying the failures encountered in the process investment with the bodies of the provinces in order to be exceeded in the new amendment. Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ruz Nuri Shaways the first meeting of the Economic Commission for the private sector, said in a statement issued by his office, that Shaways pointed to the importance of formation of the committee which was formed to be parallel to the Committee on Economic Affairs specializes in the affairs of the Iraqi private sector both inside and outside Iraq, to discuss the development of mechanisms and proposals and recommendations or decisions related to the development work of this important and vital sector and develop a roadmap for the mechanisms of the Commission and the Joint Coordination (more…)

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: President of the National Investment Commission, Dr. Sami al-Araji, said that the practical experience undergone by the body by dealing with investment companies wishing to invest in Iraq, has proven the need to re-consider a number of laws and make amendments to the task of the first and foremost an amendment Thani Law Investment No. (13) for the year 2006 rate, to mature regulatory environment encouraging investment in Iraq and the various sectors. Student affairs specialist in real estate Haider Al Shammari to amend the investment law issued in (2006) as hindering the investment process in the country through the difficulty of granting land to investors.

Al-Shammari said, according to the Agency (news) The regulations and the legal systems of the investment made by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the National Investment Commission backward are not keeping systems investment modern world indicating that it is inconsistent with the vision calling for free market economies, which led to the reluctance of many investors from entering the country, and made the investment process is weak in the country.
