Oil and Energy Committee, Tuesday, about the possibility of merging drafts within the House as proposals for oil and gas law to draft one to take out a uniform law is apt to vote in Parliament.

MP Committee Member said Hasan gave in a press statement that “most of the points in the drafts of the political blocs agreed on controversial points do not exceed five points all in terms of contracting, production and financial amounts and purposes.” (more…)

Energy parliamentary rule out the adoption of the law of oil and gas during the current legislative session

Oil and energy parliamentary ruled out the approval of the draft law of oil and gas during the current legislative session, attributed the reason to withdraw the draft law by the Committee of Five mini, which was formed by the central government and the Kurdistan region.

It is scheduled to project quintet study committee of law and the agreement on resolving the contentious points that it contains, which represent the main obstacles between the center and the region, in order to get out a final formula for the first reading. (more…)

BAGHDAD, July 16 (AKnews) – The oil and energy committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives stated Monday that three main points hinder the adoption of the controversial oil and gas law related to the ownership of the oil wealth and its management.

Committee member Furat al-Sharei said: “The Kurdistan Blocs Coalition (KBC) and Iraqiya List support the management of oil wealth through a federal office whose director is chosen in the Council of Representatives by voting while the government demands of voting for the director in the Council of Ministers. Baghdad, July 15 (Rn) – The Commission on oil and energy parliamentary, on Sunday, said that there are three main points hinder the adoption of a controversial oil and gas law relating to ownership of the oil wealth and the way management, and dispose of them.

A member of the Furat al-Shara told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the Alliance of Kurdistan and the Iraqi List, reckon that the management of oil wealth through the office of federal nominate a director through the House of Representatives to vote, but the government believes that the director of the Federal Office must be nominated by the Council of Ministers “. Confirmed to the Committee on Energy in the House of Representatives that the law, oil and gas controversial will be presented to Parliament for discussion after the end of the holiday Legislative Council in mid-June.

A member of the Kurdistan Alliance MP Qassem Mohammad Qasim that the vote was within the Commission to adopt the 2007 version of the law of oil and gas, adding that the parliament will be some additions and amendments to this version before it is put on the House of Representatives for a vote.
