The number of Iraqis under poverty line has been reduced to 16% of the country’s population of more than 30 million people from 23%, said Labor and Social Affairs minister.

Alleviate the poverty rate to 16% by 2014

The Central Agency for Statistics of the Ministry of Planning said that this year will see the activation of the poverty alleviation strategy, which aims to alleviate the poverty rate to 16% in 2014.
