The Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation of Iraq, Sunday, low monthly inflation index for the month of October last in Iraq rose 1.2 percent due to lower food prices and non-alcoholic beverages across the country.

As indicated annual inflation rate rose to 4.8 percent rate. He said ministry Spokesman Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi told a journalist, “The Central Bureau of Statistics of the Ministry of Planning completed the inflation report for the month of October 2012,” noting that ” the report was completed on the basis of field data collection for prices of goods and services components of the consumer basket of selected sample of outlets in all Governorates of Iraq. ” (more…)

Sulaimaniyah, Nov. 1 (AKnews) – Iraq exported 67.425 million bpd in October, an increase of 6.87 per cent from 63.1 million bpd the previous month

Iraq’s oil production continues to see steady increases due to the work of foreign oil companies. The problem is that the country’s export infrastructure is at capacity, and cannot handle the recent rise. September 2011 was a perfect example, when the Oil Ministry announced a new post-invasion high in capacity, but a drop in exports.

In September, Iraq said that it had greatly increased its oil capacity, but that its foreign sales were down. The Oil Ministry told the press that its capacity had reached 2.95 million barrels a day for the month, the highest since 2003. Despite that good news, the Ministry said it had only exported 63.1 million barrels in September, which was down from 67.9 million barrels shipped in August. (more…)

Positive economic growth, inflation under control

Although the economic growth rate in September was estimated at only 5.76 percent, much lower than a year earlier, both Vietnamese and foreign economists described this as a positive sign.
