1994 — UN Security Council Resolution 949 is unanimously approved, condemning Iraq’s mobilization of troops along the Kuwaiti border and calling for an immediate and complete withdrawal of the military units to their original positions.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 949, adopted unanimously on October 15, 1994, after recalling previous resolutions including 678 (1990), 686 (1991), 687 (1991), 689 (1991) and 833 (1993) on Iraq, the Council, acting under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, demanded that Iraq withdraw troops recently deployed to the border with Kuwait or face further measures.

MP Khalid refused to claim the enemy more than a hundred Iraqi lawmaker to challenge the decision to demarcate the border between Iraq and Kuwait, saying it it is completely unacceptable, and that the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border has been demarcated UN resolutions, according to the UN Security Council resolution No. 833 of 1993.

He said the enemy in a press statement yesterday that the case, and the international resolutions as aforesaid, expired or become irreversible, and called the Kuwaiti government to uphold its previous position, which was claimed by him on several occasions.

Baghdad (news) .. transport minister said Hadi al-Amiri said that the technical committee responsible for monitoring the port of Kuwait and the file sent by the government of Kuwait did not affect the construction of a port to stop Mubarak, calling on the State of Kuwait to find another place to set up the port to revive the north side of them.

He said al-Amiri (of the Agency news) today: “We’ve got the opinion and ended their work did not impact on the Kuwaiti side with respect to stop the implementation of the fourth phase of the port of Mubarak.”

SECURITY COUNCIL ADOPTS RESOLUTION 2001 (2011), EXTENDING MANDATE OF UNITED NATIONS ASSISTANCE MISSION FOR IRAQ

Reaffirming the importance of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in helping the Iraqi people and Government strengthen democratic institutions, advance inclusive political dialogue and national reconciliation and facilitate regional dialogue, the Security Council today decided to extend its mandate for 12 months.

Unanimously adopting resolution 2001 (2011), the 15-member body, also decided that the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Iraq would, at the Government’s request, continue his mandate, as stipulated in resolution 1936 (2010).

the mandate of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1483 of May
2003. The executive heads of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the
International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations and the World Bank established the
IAMB in October 2003, with the finalization of the IAMB terms of reference. A fifth full
voting member was designated by the Government of Iraq in June 2004.

Kuwait shows that Mubarak will be construction of a port within the territorial waters and in accordance with resolution 833

Confirmed the Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad, Thursday, to build a port Mubarak will be in shallow waters and within the territorial waters of Kuwait, noting that it will be drilled channel qualifies smooth traffic without impeding the direction of Umm Qasr, while considered that the procedures to be taken to build the port in accordance with UNGA Resolution No. 833.

Iraq agreed to open two accounts in the United States for the management of oil revenues, especially, after the closure of the Development Fund for Iraq on June 30 where it shall be deposited all revenues, which had been opened after 2003.

The Iraqi government will be deposited in one of these accounts for 95 percent of Iraq’s revenues, while the second will be deposited in the account 5 percent of revenues in order to pay the compensation awarded to Kuwait for the 1991 war, according to UN Security Council resolutions.
