Said Husam Obeid, an economist on the need to speed up the deletion of zeros from the Iraqi currency, because such a step of positive returns.

Said Husam Obeid, an economist that the step to delete the zeros of the Iraqi currency has become an urgent necessity in order to raise the value of the Iraqi currency against foreign currencies added to maintain the balance in the market.

A number of experts that Iraq is affected by transactions the dollar zone, pointing to high levels of inflation in it.

The appearance of Dr. Mohammed Saleh, the deputy governor of the central bank: that the Dollar affect the trading countries, representing the dollar zone such as Iraq, one of the countries that deal in dollars through trading oil, which supposed to be neutral, where he gave the subject a shadow on the prices of food entering the country, especially that Iraq is one of the countries most dependent on imported goods, and that 38% of industrial materials enter through the import, which led to the existence of so-called imported inflation.

The Federal Reserve may keep interest rates at record lows for the longest period since World War II as the economic slowdown that sparked a four-month bond rally worsens, according to Treasury market signals.

The 3-percentage-point gap between yields for three-month and 10-year Treasuries indicates the economy may grow 1.1 percent in the 12 months ending June 2012, a study by the Fed Bank of Cleveland says. That’s less than half the central bank’s current forecast, and may delay any rate increase from the zero- to-25 basis point range held since December 2008.

Japanese PM calls in forces, bank calms financial fears

Prime Minister Naoto Kan mobilised Japan’s Self-Defence Forces and the central bank pledged to ensure financial stability yesterday after a magnitude-8.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Sendai, a city of one million people, causing damage across the east coast of Japan.

“I call on citizens to act calmly,” Mr Kan told reporters in Tokyo after convening his emergency disaster response team.

“The Self-Defense Forces are already mobilised in various places. The government is making its utmost effort to minimise the damage,” he said, saying later in a news conference that the impact was widespread.

The Ministry of Finance said it was too soon to gauge the economic impact of the earthquake, the world’s biggest in more than six years.

Japan’s central bank set up an emergency taskforce and said it would do everything it could to provide ample liquidity.
